A martingale offers more comfort, control and support than a traditional collar. They are âno slipâ meaning that your dog can not back out of the collar and get loose if they become fearful or overly excited. Perfect for breeds whoâs heads are the same size or smaller than their necks. If used properly, Martingaleâs are an excellent training tool to reduce the amount of pulling during walks. *With any type of training, lots of treats and positive reinforcement is highly suggested!
As a personal recommendation, if your dog consistently pulls during a walk and is choking themselves on a regular collar or martingale collar, please look into other options for your dogs safety. (harness, gentle leader, easy walk harness). As an owner of a multiple dogs, I also recommend removing any collar while your dogs are inside the house, especially if you are not home. Buckles and tags can easily become stuck on items in your home or while dogs are playing causing potential harm to your pets. Please always make sure your pets are also microchipped, collars/tags are not always a successful way of reuniting you with your pet if they become lost.
